Our bad for the long hiatus. School has been keeping us quite occupied. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll have some great holiday deals available on eBay. Most shoes are deadstock and $100 or less. Here’s a sample of what’s to come:

Jordan Brand "Jumpman" Logo

Props to retrourfeet on NT:

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x221/likemikephotobucket/28755eb9.gif

Here’s part of an interview with HOOP Magazine from April of 1997 where Mike talks about the creation of the Jumpman Logo.

“I wasn’t even dunking on that one. People think that I was. I just stood on the floor, jumped up and spread my legs and they took the picture. I wasn’t even running. Everyone thought I did that by running and taking off. Actually, it was a ballet move where I jumped up and spread my legs. And I was holding the ball in my left hand.”

Not many people know that the original idea for the photo shoot of the Jumpman came from an older photo of Mike in Life Magazine for the 1984 Olympics.

Nike Prosthetics

Okay, these are not sneaker-related but we think these prosthetics look amazing.

Nike Air Flight Lite High Retro

Now this is a RETRO shoe, a clean colorway that stays true to the OG model.

http://www.hypebeast.com/image/2008/09/nike-air-flight-lite-high.jpg

Via Hypebeast:

As a witness to the Chicago Bulls reign over the NBA in the 90’s, I can still remember Pip wearing those classic Nike air flights while terrorizing the opposition. In the latest series of flight lite high retros, we get a look at the Bulls reminiscent colorway featuring the all too familiar red/white/black colorway. Along with a high top feature, the kicks provide excellent ankle support and comfort for playing ball or simply just looking fly.

Nike Air Force 1 “Oxford”

We generally don’t like the bulkiness of AF1s either but we gotta agree: these look fantastic (at least on our computer screens).

http://www.hyrcollective.com/daily-blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/oxford-af1-2-300x236.png

Words by hyrcollective:

I don’t know what’s wrong me but I think I want these Air Force 1s. I hate AF1s; They’re bulky, the midsole is so high it feels like a platform shoe, and most of the colourways are average to me. But I’m kind of digging this oxford pack and I don’t think I want to grow up and wear man shoes just yet. Like Hansel, oxford cloth is so hot right now and I’m a huge sucker for gum soles. The black pair is my favourite of the bunch as the the shades of red and blue are little too strong I think. The pack is a Tier 0 release slated for late September, time will tell if I come to my senses…

Nike Zoom Flight 95 Obsidian / White / Orange Blaze

We’re not commenting so much on the new colorway but we gotta use our late pass for this: Nike, how’d you lose Jason Kidd?!

Bonus: Throwback Pic

Via Sneaker Files:

Jason Kidd may be past his days of being a former poster child for powerhouse sneaker company, Nike, but as he joins Shane Battier among other with Chinese brand Peak, Nike continues to put out his signature sneaker, Zoom Flight 95, in new color-ways. Appearing in a combination of obsidian, white and orange blaze, this color-way looks to pay homage to the New Jersey Nets, a team Jason Kidd spent a few seasons with. The sneaker consists of an obsidian upper, red accents and a white sole. The premium Zoom Flight 95 is now available at LTD Online.

What happened to Nike Free’s? Oh yeah, they’re becoming hybrid-ardized. Here’s the latest creation.

Nike Air Max Light Premium

This works! We love the striking tartan pattern with the neon blues. Now, here’s to hoping that the materials isn’t that cheap, crappy plastic-leather (we’re not holding our breath).

http://www.sneakerfiles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/plaidairmaxlightmain.jpg

Via Sneaker Files:

With Summer coming to an end, Nike prepares their Fall line-up with the release of this Air Max Light Premium. Consisting of a black base complimented by a navy swoosh, a nice tartan pattern of red and light blue also appears on the toe box and ankle area. Furthermore, light blue re-appears on the laces, tongue, and sole to add a contrasting effect that plays out very well. Available now at Caliroots.

Nike Dunk High “Back to School”

It’s almost official… the impending dread of starting school again is back. This colorway reminds us of the good ol’ days of coloring with crayons, recess, and Lunchables.

http://www.hypebeast.com/image/2008/08/nike-back-to-school-dunk-high-1.jpg

Via Hypebeast:

Tentatively dubbed the “Back to School” Dunk, here’s a preview at an upcoming release from Nike. In an almost tie-dye like fashion, the upper is marked by series of crayon doodles with yellow accents seen for the laces, swoosh and sole. Stay tuned for more details and what may perhaps be another pack of school-inspired sneakers.

Air Jordan 6 Rings “Concord”

This colorway resembles the iconic Concord XI colorway but of course, we’d rather have the XI model.

http://images.nicekicks.com/images/air-jordan-6-rings-concord-os-1.jpg

Via Hypebeast:

With it’s obvious resemblance to the AJ XI, the newest mash-up sneaker from the Jordan Camp continues where the Spizike model left off. The biggest difference in this silhouette though is the use patent leather and original retro colorways rather than over bearing the consumer with obscure color choices. Already having released the iconic black/red Chicago Bulls color scheme, the next release will come in an equally impressive white/black/concord, which is due to drop October 25th, 2008.

adidas x Neighborhood ZX 700

Something a little different from the usual three stripes… we like the bridge between streetwear elements and cues from dressier shoes in this collabo.

http://www.hyrcollective.com/daily-blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/neighad1.png

Thoughts by h(y)r collective:

As most people have seen the second batch of the Adidas AZX collection have been leaked online, only days after the first round released. Basically Neighborhood murdered it. I’m honestly a little surprised that they were involved in the project, but it is THE best thing Adidas has done in recent history. The first round did quite well, with resellers getting around $300 for the certain models. Neighborhood took the less worn ZX 700 and turned it into a very Visvim-like piece of footwear. With what looks to be some nice leather and a very clean overall look, this is easily my top choice from the Adidas pack, followed by the Goodfoot model. I probably like the Neighborhood version the most because it doesn’t look like its Adidas. I did find the rest of the second pack to be a little lackluster and it will be hard for them to top the packaging that came from Huf and Goodfoot to accompany their releases.

Nike Tuned Air x Air Max Plus

Now there’s a seizure-inducing sneaker…

http://www.sneakerfiles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/niketunedmain.jpg

Via Sneaker Files:

From the shadows of Nike’s Olympic collection comes this Tuned x Air Max Plus. It comes from Nike’s more bright side featuring several colors patterned on the upper. The bright upper is finished off with a metallic gold swoosh and a white mid-sole that adds a nice effect.

Furthermore, Nike also offers more ways to express your style with the availability of several different colored laces that can be swapped in and out. Unfortunately, these Air Max Pluses are only available at European Foot Locker locations, but have appeared at online retailer’s web-stores including Bingo Runner.
